some things

in the rest of the world, after a rainstorm, the humidity is at least partly gone. in dc...yeah, not so much. why? the weather section in the Post provides the answer:
"The air has a lot of moisture in it," Silverman said. "It's tropical type
of air mass that can drop about two inches of rain in about an hour."

also, best q&a in a live online chat ever:

Re. Obama: Obama, Osama. We'll take care of them both before long. You don't
cross this President and keep your reputation intact.
Robert G. Kaiser: What a charming comment.

finally...

I am Data. Like the guy from Star Trek. But then again I barely knew any of the songs to pick from that I would sing.. and some of the other questions were kinda subjective.. But Data sounds good, anyway.

Beth, how do you read all this stuff and find all this stuff? I'm still backed up to Saturday's Times, and that's only reading articles that start on the front page. Well, and I need to read Daniel Okrent's recent column that was apparently him "confessing" that the Times is liberal. And read Howard Kurtz's response. This afternoon I *finally* saw that animation with Bush & Kerry that everyone is talking about.. I felt so behind.

it probably has something to do with the fact that there's not that much for me to do at work here right now, so i spend all day reading the washington post online? that's my guess...
