today has been (partially) scrawesome ranical

as my little sister would say. it means "awesome," but i'm not sure how the other syllables got on there...

did you know that Al Jazeera is showing more of the Democratic convention than ABC, CBS and NBC combined? hah. everyone at my work was talking about the convention today. the director of our organization was talking about hearing kucinich speak on the radio, and how it was so much better than on tv because you couldn't see how dorky he looked. it was noted that edwards used the word "rent" in his speech and someone else (obama?) used the word "homelessness." thus indicating the high priority the dems place on housing issues...
then people started making bets on what kerry would say in his speech, like that he would use the word "homeownership," or that he wouldn't use the word "section 8." and especially that he wouldn't use the phrase "the bill for a housing trust fund which i introduced into the senate..." apparantly housing is also no longer listed as a policy issue on his website (he used to have a little blurb on it, but the website got all changed around.)

i got off of work early.

i also got a FREE T-SHIRT! this is a shirt that simply says "NOVEMBER 2" on the front. nothing on the back. i don't really get it... but it's supposed to be about voting or something? i have an extra if anyone wants! maybe i will bring it up to NY tomorrow.

our power was supposed to be out between 2:30 pm and 6 am tomorrow, but it is not. which is great. i called pepco (utility company) and they said "yeah, by 2:30 pm we meant...2:30 am." which is such a better time to have a disruption. yay.
